This article will guide you through exporting your projects’ Gantt charts as well as printing in single or multi-page format.

Note that the Gantt ‘print’ feature on ManagePlaces will generate a single PDF with the current viewer’s settings (such as project content, current zoom level, custom column width, expanded or collapsed task groups etc.). As systems, and printers, vary, you may need to identify the correct settings for your system and Web browser.

Export a Gantt chart in PDF:

  1. Access the Gantt chart via the ‘Gantt’ tab on project level

  2. Define your printout/export settings by adjusting the zoom level, columns, and contents, etc.

  3. Use your Browser's print function to export the view in PDF.

Print a Gantt chart (single page):

Open the exported PDF file and use the browser window's settings to print it.

Print a Gantt chart (multi-page):

If you want to print your Gantt chart on multiple pages (poster mode) you can use a third-party tool where you can define how many pages (horizontally, vertically, or a combination of the two) should be printed. We recommend using Adobe Reader.

With Adobe Reader you can print your Gantt chart by splitting it across multiple sheets of paper (called “tiling”). The tiling option calculates automatically how many sheets of paper are needed.

How to print a large format document with Adobe Reader (source):

1. Open your Gantt chart with Adobe Reader

2. Select the Print option

3. From the Page Scaling pop-up menu, you can select one of the following options:

  • Tile Large Pages: Tile only the pages that are larger than the paper.
  • Tile All Pages: Tile all the pages in the PDF file.

4. Set the following options as needed (see images below):

  • Tile Scale: Scales the pages by the amount you specify.
  • Overlap: Determines the amount each tile overlaps adjacent tiles.
  • Cut Marks: Adds guide marks to each page to help you trim the overlap.
  • Labels: Adds the filename and page number on each "tile".

5. Click OK or Print.
